Facts & figures

It is estimated that 1 out of 5 pharmaceutical products on the market are fake, with the proportion rising to more in some countries. According to world health organisation (who) estimates, each year, approximately 1 million people around the world die from counterfeit drugs, which account for 30 percent of global drug sales. The number of deaths and drug resistance levels continue to rise due to consumption of fake drugs, which is creating a healthcare nightmare, and more so in developing countries. Today, the menace of counterfeiting knows no borders, affecting corporations, governments, consumers and entire world. Not only does this situation cause a huge profit loss to the pharmaceutical industry, but it also poses dangers to those who are taking the counterfeit medicine.

The wake-up call is that counterfeits remain a serious threat and getting bigger while the industry and various stakeholders are mobilising on their sides for a serious battle. This conference will gather government bodies, pharmaceutical companies, solution and technology providers to discuss the in-depth insights into the strategies and cutting edge technologies for pharmaceutical anti-counterfeiting. Pharmasafe India 2017 will bring together over 150 delegates and speakers representing cross-section of stakeholders – business leaders from top pharmaceutical companies, eminent experts in anti-counterfeiting technology, government & regulatory authorities, customs, investigators, legal experts, consultants and leading industry bodies to share a common platform for discussions, exchange of valuable insights, best practices, domestic and global trends and challenges as well as strategies to tackle the counterfeiting challenge.
